When agents share a workspace

A practical approach to coordination: shared context, clear ownership, and review before publishing.

Multiple assistants can help with a project. When they share files, they also share the responsibility to protect each other’s work.

Start with shared context

Before changing anything, establish what is already running, which files are being edited, and what the current task requires. A coordination note is useful, but it should never be mistaken for confirmation that another session has read it.

Give each task a home

Separate staging directories and clear file ownership make changes easier to inspect. Keep the original available, build a concrete result, and check the difference before moving it into the live project.

Review the actual result

A successful edit is only part of the job. Follow the links, check the assets, and use the interface. Record what was verified and what remains uncertain so the next person can continue with confidence.
